About Me
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Meet Becky Merka
Founder of Merka Wellness | Somatic Practitioner | Creator of The C.A.L.M. Identity Method
My name is Becky Merka, and I’m the owner of Merka Wellness. My work today is deeply personal because I know what it feels like to struggle, to lose yourself in the weight of your own thoughts, and to wonder how to find your way back.

After spending more than 20 years in corporate America, my mental health began to deteriorate. I struggled with debilitating anxiety that eventually led to deep depression. I found myself bed rotting whenever I had the chance, unable to find the motivation or energy to do the things I once could. At my lowest point, I struggled to understand my purpose and had lost hope for what life could look like.
But somewhere within me, there was still a part that wanted more. I knew I couldn't keep living the way I was, and I began fighting for myself.
One of the most significant turning points in my life was discovering The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP). It helped me begin changing the internal patterns and emotional responses that had kept me feeling stuck. The mental loops that once played over and over in my mind no longer had the same hold on me. Instead of feeling trapped in survival mode, I began to experience what it felt like to grow, reconnect with myself, and move forward with a renewed sense of possibility.
That experience changed the direction of my life. It also changed what I wanted to do with it.
I knew I wanted to help other people discover that they weren't broken, that their past didn't have to define their future, and that a different way of experiencing life was possible.
Bringing Together the Mind and Body
My work has continued to evolve as I've explored the connection between our thoughts, emotions, physical experiences, and the patterns we carry through life.
I
'm a Certified Psychosomatic Facilitator through Integrative Psychology Institute, where I've deepened my understanding of somatic awareness and the ways we can use the body as a resource for self-awareness, regulation, and personal growth.
I'm also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a group fitness instructor, and a 200-hour certified yoga teacher through YogaRenew. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the relationship between physical movement, body awareness, and emotional well-being.
I believe meaningful change can involve more than understanding something intellectually. Sometimes, we need opportunities to slow down, notice what is happening within us, reconnect with our bodies, and begin responding to ourselves differently.

Through Merka Wellness, I bring together my training, personal experience, and passion for helping others create meaningful change. My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in the belief that you deserve to feel connected to yourself—not constantly at war with yourself.

The C.A.L.M. Identity Method

My own journey inspired me to create The C.A.L.M. Identity Method and Journal, a guided 56-day experience designed to help people become more intentional about the way they see themselves and the lives they want to create.
T
he method brings together reflection, gratitude, self-awareness, and identity-focused practices to help you recognize old patterns, explore new perspectives, and begin making choices that align with the person you want to become.

The accompanying journal offers a dedicated space to slow down, reflect, and practice these ideas in everyday life.

For me, this work is about moving beyond the constant pressure to fix yourself or try harder. It's about building a different relationship with yourself, one intentional choice at a time.
Why I Do This Work
I don't believe you have to have everything figured out to begin creating change. I also don't believe that struggling means you've failed.
I've experienced what it's like to feel stuck in patterns that seem impossible to break, and I've experienced the hope that comes with discovering a new way forward.
Today, my mission is to help others reconnect with themselves, build greater self-awareness, and discover what it feels like to move through life with more calm, confidence, and intention.
Whether through somatic facilitation, movement, yoga, or The C.A.L.M. Identity Method, my goal is to meet people where they are and support them as they explore where they want to go.
You don't have to become someone else. You can begin by reconnecting with yourself.
I'm so glad you're here, and I'd be honored to be part of your journey.
